A candle jar packed for a pallet shipment to a filling plant faces different risks from a finished retail candle sent by courier. Packaging should be designed around the next handling stage, not copied from an unrelated product.
Bulk pallet delivery to a filler
The priority is efficient protection during container transport and warehouse handling. Jars are commonly separated by cells or layers and packed in export cartons. Buyers should confirm carton strength, divider design, top and bottom cushioning, pallet pattern and moisture protection.
The filler also needs cartons that open efficiently and keep glass clean. Overcomplicated individual wrapping may add labor without improving the receiving process.
Retail-ready packaging
When the jar is sold as an empty decorative product, packaging must protect the finish and present the brand. Individual boxes, printed sleeves or molded inserts may be appropriate. Approve the retail pack with the actual jar, lid and decoration because small dimensional changes affect fit.
Ecommerce parcel delivery
Courier networks introduce repeated drops and unpredictable orientation. A retail box that survives on a pallet may fail when shipped alone. Test the complete parcel configuration, including void fill, outer carton and any additional product packed in the same order.
| Route | Main risk | Packaging focus |
|---|---|---|
| Container to filler | Compression, vibration and warehouse handling | Carton strength, dividers and pallet stability |
| Retail distribution | Surface damage and presentation | Individual protection and branded box fit |
| Ecommerce courier | Drops and mixed orientation | Parcel-level cushioning and validation |
Protect decorated surfaces
Frosted, coated and metallic jars can show rubbing marks. Options include bags, tissue, sleeves or nonabrasive cells. Test protection after transport simulation; a clean jar before packing does not prove the surface will arrive clean.
Write packing details into the order
- Pieces per inner pack and export carton
- Bag, sleeve, divider and cushioning material
- Carton dimensions and gross-weight limit
- Pallet size, height and stretch wrapping
- Shipping marks, barcode and label position
- Drop, vibration or compression test agreed for the route
- Photo record before container sealing
Approve a packed sample
For a new jar, lid or box combination, request a complete packed sample before bulk production. Check how quickly it can be unpacked, whether the jar moves inside, and whether decoration touches abrasive surfaces. Keep the approved packaging drawing with the product specification.
