Vertical ribbed glass candle holders combine a familiar cylindrical body with texture that changes the way light and color appear. For a buyer, the important decisions are rib geometry, internal diameter, decoration and packing—not simply choosing a photograph from a catalog.
Specify the rib profile
Ask whether the ribs are molded on the outside, inside or both. External ribs create stronger tactile definition and can affect label placement. Internal texture may influence wax release and cleaning. A drawing should show rib width, depth, spacing and the clear zones at the rim and base.
Fine ribs create a refined optical effect but demand consistent mold definition. Wider ribs are visually stronger and may be easier to combine with translucent colors. Approve the pattern on the intended jar size because the same spacing looks different on a wider body.
Check usable candle dimensions
The outside texture does not determine wick selection. Confirm the internal opening diameter, usable volume and fill line. The candle brand or filler should test the final vessel with its actual wax, fragrance and wick system.
| Feature | Buyer decision |
|---|---|
| Rib depth | Subtle optical texture or strong tactile relief |
| Color | Clear, transparent color, matte or opaque coating |
| Logo area | Print across ribs, use a clear panel, or brand the lid |
| Top rim | Clearance needed for lid or dust cover |
| Packing | Protection against rubbing on raised surfaces |
Plan decoration around texture
Printing directly across ribs can distort fine text. Options include reserving a smooth logo panel, using a label designed for a textured surface, branding the lid, or selecting a simplified one-color mark. Test the final logo on a physical jar rather than relying on a digital mockup.
Inspect molded detail and color
- Compare rib definition from top to bottom.
- Review the mold parting line through the pattern.
- Check the jar sits flat.
- Inspect color buildup in recessed areas.
- Confirm the rim remains compatible with the selected lid.
- Look for packing marks after a transport trial.
Include these details in the RFQ
Send target dimensions, capacity, color, finish, logo method, lid type, order quantity and destination. If you have a reference jar, provide photographs from several angles and a measured drawing.
