A logo method that looks good on paper may not perform the same way on clear, frosted, ribbed or coated glass. Wholesale buyers should select decoration after the jar shape and surface finish are confirmed, then approve the logo on a physical sample.
Screen printing
Screen printing is widely used for simple logos and text. It works best when artwork has practical line widths and the print area is compatible with the jar curvature. Confirm ink color, opacity, registration and resistance to normal handling. Fine artwork should be tested rather than assumed.
Decals
Decals can reproduce more complex designs and multiple colors. Buyers should inspect the edge of the transfer, alignment, color consistency and appearance after the specified finishing process. Ask how the decal interacts with frosting or coating underneath.
Hot stamping
Metallic foil can create a premium gold, silver or colored accent. Coverage depends on surface smoothness, pressure and artwork. A ribbed or strongly textured jar may need a reserved smooth panel. Approve foil on the actual production finish.
Labels
Labels offer flexibility for smaller collections and frequent artwork changes. The jar surface must still be suitable for adhesion. Test bubbling, lifting and alignment on clear, frosted and coated samples, including after filling and storage.
| Method | Best suited to | Main approval point |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | Simple durable logos | Ink coverage and registration |
| Decal | Detailed or multicolor artwork | Transfer edge and alignment |
| Hot stamping | Metallic premium accents | Foil coverage on the real surface |
| Label | Flexible artwork and shorter programs | Adhesion after filling and handling |
Prepare production-ready artwork
Send vector artwork, Pantone references, final dimensions and exact position from the rim or base. Identify a visible front panel when the jar has seams, ribs or embossing. Keep required legal text large enough to remain readable on the curved surface.
Approve a complete decorated sample
The sample should use the final jar color, finish and logo process. Place it in the intended lid and retail packaging, then examine it under the lighting used for approval. Keep a signed reference for production inspection.
